You have to block the creator of the list

This is currently the only way to remove yourself from a Twitter list. The support page linked has instructions for mobile but for desktop

1. View the list you’re on by tapping the 3 dots to the right and tapping the flag.

2. Open the list (from the list of lists your on) and click the 3 dot menu again

3. Then you’ll want to block the user via the block icon which also will remove you from the list.

You are able to unblock the account straight away and you won’t be re-added to the list automatically (but they are able to manually again).

This also removes them as a follower so you’ll also have to follow the account again or have them follow you.

Note: This method only works for public lists. You won’t be able to see if you’re on a private list to remove yourself.
