Hashtag day falls on August 23rd every year

The first hashtag was used on Twitter on August 23, 2007 by Chris Messina. This is not going to be a history lesson but a great blog on this has already been written by Buffer on this.

So every year, people come to Twitter to talk about hashtags in celebration

Most will share some of the most trending hashtags or their favourite hashtags from the year. It’s a time to talk and review all things hashtags to see what people shared in during the year.
